Fraser Mahoney House is part of the historical neighourhood known as Schmidtville. Build in 1864 this building was home to George Fraser, accountant for Alexander Keith. After Fraser, the Scanlon-Mahoney family lived in the building for 134 years.

One of Halifax’s first suburbs, Schmidtville is a Heritage Conservation District originally developed by Captain Christian Schmidt and his wife Elizabeth Pedley.
